Michele Alonzo

MICHELE ALONZO, Executive Director
Michele Alonzo was born in Napoli, in the Campania region of Italy. He received his medical degree from University of Napoli and a professional degree in clinical research from University of Cincinnati, where he has worked since 1991, mostly in the field of organ transplantation.
He started teaching at School Amici in 1989 and three years later became the Executive Director.
He now has dual citizenship. He lives downtown with his wife and has two kids: Fabio (20) and Arianna (18).
Michele is an authorized translator for the Consulate of Italy in Detroit, and an area representative for World Heritage Students Exchange Program. He is also a contributing writer for La Gazzetta Italiana, a Cleveland based newspaper for the Italian-American community. Recently he also started a busines partnership with some Italian schools in Italy. Michele travels to his native country twice a year to visit his relatives and friends. His main hobbies are soccer, photography, traveling, playing guitar and watching Italian movies.
