MICHELE ALONZO, Executive Director
Michele Alonzo was born in Napoli, in the Campania region of Italy. He received his medical degree from University of Napoli and a professional degree in clinical research from University of Cincinnati, in Ohio (USA). He started teaching at School Amici in 1989 and two years later became the Executive Director.
Since 2000 Michele is a dual citizen and an authorized translator for the Consulate of Italy in Detroit. He is also an area representative for the ASSE International Students Exchange Program. Recently he also started a cooperation program with three Italian schools in Siena, Orvieto and Sorrento. As a contributing writer for La Gazzetta Italiana, a Cleveland based newspaper, he writes article for the Italian-American community. Michele travels to his native country regularly to visit his relatives and friends. His main hobbies are soccer, photography, traveling, playing guitar and watching Italian movies. He lives downtown Cincinnati with his wife and has two kids: Fabio (22) and Arianna (20).
