School AMICI offers five different language courses for adults during fall, winter and spring sessions. All classes are held on Wednesday, 6:30-8:30pm.

To learn a foreign language you need consistent practice, but also some fun. Students should attend classes and participate as much as possible; lessons are set in a relaxed and fun environment. Studying a little bit every day is strongly recommended, but most of the learning will be done at school.

Bring to class the textbook , a notebook and pen. We also recommend a small English-Italian dictionary.

The following are our standard courses. If you are not sure which one is more appropriate to you, please give us a call and we will determine your best fit. You can also click on each course name to see details of weekly lessons.

Beginning Italian (Level 1)
This course is for people who have never studied Italian before. From the very first class, teachers introduce a little bit of Italian. Students learn how to introduce themselves, ask and give information, express needs and simple thoughts. Lessons include simple vocabulary and expressions.

Beginning Italian Plus (Level 2)
This is a course for students who have had some exposure to the language and feel comfortable with basic words and grammar; present tenses of main verbs are introduced. It is mostly recommended for those who want to improve their vocabulary and study more grammar to participate in social life.

Intermediate Italian (Level 3)
This course is designed for students who already know the basic language. The goal is to improve comprehension, pronunciation and vocabulary. There are some group activities using Italian language only. Use of more refined grammar and expressions is introduced.

Intermediate Italian Plus (Level 4)
Students who already have a good command of the language or have studied Italian for at least one year will be ready for this class. Some elements of advanced grammar are covered. Since only Italian is spoken in class, we recommend a preliminary telephone conversation for students enrolling in this course to make sure their language skills are appropriate.

Advanced Italian (Level 5)
Students who speak almost fluently or have studied Italian for at least two or three years or have lived in Italy for a while are encouraged to sign up for this course. Various topics are discussed in group activities to stimulate conversation, using advanced grammar. A phone conversation in italian is required to assess student's fluency for this top level.

All courses are held at Academy of World Languages. Next session starts on April 3rd.
