Advanced Italian / Fluent

This course is designed for those who are already fluent in Italian, having studied Italian for at least two years or have lived in Italy and want to maintain their conversational skill. The goal is the improvement of the spoken and written language, reviewing advanced grammatical structures, idiomatic expressions, refined vocabulary. The ability of communicating will be mostly developed through group discussions on various topics, articles, events or personal stories. Some aspects of Italian culture may be addressed. The teacher will focus on some particularly important advanced grammatical points, particularly useful to conduct a dialogue espressing preferences, opinions and hypothesis.

Only fluent Italian is spoken in class. A preliminary telephone conversation may be conducted to make sure that the student is fluent in italian and can carry an advanced level conversation without hesitation. Most of the conversation is impromptu and it is moderated by the teacher, who also gives reading and writing assignment as homework.
