Italian 105: Advanced / Fluent

This course is designed for those who have already mastered Italian, having studied for at least two years at our school or have lived in Italy and want to maintain their conversational skills. The goal is the improvement of the spoken and written language, by reviewing advanced grammatical structures, idiomatic expressions and refined vocabulary. The ability of communicating will be mostly developed through group discussions on various topics. Some aspects of Italian culture may be addressed. The teacher will focus on important advanced grammatical points, particularly useful to conduct a dialogue espressing preferences, opinions and hypothesis.

Only fluent Italian is spoken in class. A preliminary telephone conversation must be conducted to make sure that the student is fluent in italian and can carry an advanced conversation without hesitation. Most of the conversation is impromptu and it is moderated by the teacher, who also gives reading and writing assignment as homework.
