Professoressa Perrotta

Mariateresa Perrotta was born in Fuscaldo (Cosenza), located in the Calabria region, the "boot" of Italy.

She came to Cincinnati in 1976 when she married her husband, Gerardo, who also teaches at AMICI. They fell in love the summer he returned to Fuscaldo to visit relatives after his family settled in Ohio.

Mariateresa earned a diploma in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Salerno, Italy. In addition to her successful thirty-year career at School AMICI, she also teaches Italian at University of Cincinnati. She is one of the very first teachers of our school.

Mariateresa and her husband Gerardo live in Western Hills and have four children, who are perfect bilingual.

Her hobbies include gardening and cooking (Italian of course).
