Mariateresa Perrotta
Mariateresa Perrotta was born in Fuscaldo (Cosenza), in the Calabria region, the "boot" of Italy.
She came to Cincinnati thirty-four years ago when she married her husband, Gerardo, who also teaches at AMICI. They fell in love the summer he returned to Fuscaldo to visit relatives after his family settled in Ohio.
Mariateresa earned a diploma in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Salerno, Italy. In addition to her successful twenty year teaching career at AMICI, she teaches Italian at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Mariateresa and her husband Gerardo live in Western Hills and have four children, all of whom are bilingual.
Her hobbies include gardening and cooking (Italian of course).
