Policies & Instructions

Only a registration with full payment of the tuition guarantees a seat in class. Seating is limited, therefore enrollment in all courses is on a first-come, first-served basis.

One registration form must be completed for each student online.

You have the choice of paying your tuition either online or by mail.

Tuition for language classes is $220 per session, which includes a total of 10 two-hour weekly classes. It must be paid in full by the registration deadline. It does not include books.

Payment can be made by Credit Card or E-Check (Electronic Bank Transfer) using the Google Checkout button that you'll see upon completing the online registration form.

You may also mail a Check or Money Order, payable to AMICI, to the address below. If you choose this option, please include a printout of your online registration form.

A Full Refund of the tuition may be obtained if a student withdraws before the registration deadline. No money can be refunded anytime thereafter.

Refunds may be applied as a credit for the following session. The credit is forfeited if not used within 6 months, and it is not transferable.

Discounts, partial or pro-rated payments are not allowed.

It is not possible to grant a partial refund for missed or canceled lessons.

Cancellation of a Course
Courses that don't have a sufficient enrollment are subject to cancellation. In this case the student can move to another class or take a credit for a future course or receive a full refund of the tuition.

Cancellation of a Lesson or Change of Day
School AMICI reserves the right to cancel a lesson should it be necessary due to severe weather or other exceptional circumstances, such as an unexpected absence of the teacher. Each student should provide a daytime phone number where to be reached. If a class is cancelled, School AMICI will make every effort to contact all students by e-mail in a timely fashion. It is not possible to make up for a canceled lesson on another date. Occasionally lessons may be moved to a different day due to other events scheduled at school.

Classes are not in session when Cincinnati Public Schools are closed.

Change of Course
Only during the first week of the session a student may request to the school director to be moved to a different course, provided that seats are still available in that course.

Certificate of Completion
A student is eligible for a Certificate of Completion upon passing a written test at the end of the course. This test is optional and is not required in order to enroll in a higher course level.

Smoking, Eating and Phone
No smoking is permitted on school’s premises. Food and beverages are prohibited in all classrooms. The use of cellular phones during the lesson is strictly limited to emergencies.

Location
Classes are held at the Academy of World Languages (AWL), 2030 Fairfax Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45207. A large free parking lot is available to all students.

Time
Classrooms are open on Wednesday at 6:15pm. Students are required to arrive by 6:30pm (no tardiness). The front gate will be locked right after this time and no access to the building will be allowed. Lessons are 6:30-8:30pm, with a 10-minute break halfway through.
